New Arrivals Tasting

New Arrivals

Saturday February 19th, 12-5pm

"Weekend" George will sample you through a gathering of the newest arrivals to hit Suburban's shelves.

Olivier Leflaive Bourgogne Blanc Les Setilles '08

Outstanding Chardonnay from declassified Mersault and Puligny-Montrachet vineyards. This is in the elite of Bourgogne Blancs, and truly over-delivers.

Casa de Mouraz Encruzado '08

Gorgeous organic white from the Dao region of Portugal, made from the Encruzado variety. The vineyards were mentioned in documents from the 16th century!

Domaine Matignon Anjou Rouge '08

This is another reason why Loire Valley Cabernet Franc is among the greatest red wines values on the planet. Mushroom torte, anyone?

Italo Pietrantonj Montepulciano d'Abruzzo '07
Made the old-fashioned way, this is the way Montepulciano should taste…..soft, earthy, leathery, and with notes of anise and dried tobacco.

Calera Pinot Noir Central Coast '08
Impressive, as one would expect. We tasted the wine this week and just had to have it. For a wine sourced from 10 vineyard sites, this tastes rather distinctive.

Heretat de Taverners Mallaura '05
A flat-out steal from Valencia, this maturing blend of Cabernet, Tempranillo, Garnacha and Monastrell is gutsy and substantial, and used to cost 3 times as much.
