Tasting...with "Weekend George"!!!

New Arrivals!

...with "Weekend" George

Saturday, June 17th

Here is what we will be tasting:

Joostenberg Wines Little J White '10
Say hello to a pleasant little blend of Chenin Blanc and Viognier from South Africa's Western Cape. The fruit is very pure and tropical, and the finish is off-dry.

Xtremo Torrontes '08
An aging white from Mendoza, Argentina, this Torrontes is one of the best we've had in a while. Its aromas pop with a distinctive flair, and the wine is very racy in the mouth.
Dr. Lippold Empress Josephine's Riesling '09
Here's a Mosel Riesling that has more than meets the eye when it comes to style and quality. It placed in the top ten in our blind taste-off of the best whites under $10. Exotic and semi-dry.

Domaine Labbé Vin de Savoie Rouge '08
Ever had a Mondeuse? That's the grape variety that composes this cool-climate red from France's Savoie. Light-bodied and very pretty. 12% alcohol… often is that seen anymore?

Wooloomooloo Red Blend '08
Perhaps the most fun wine name to pronounce, Wooloomooloo Red blends Shiraz, Cabernet, Grenache and Mataro. This is a juicy, sappy, bold-flavored Aussie.
Bussola Valpolicella Ripasso Ca' del Laito '06
George F. flipped out over this Ripasso from the well-liked producer Bussola. Although it is a "big" wine, it is not about its bigness as much as it is about its diversity of flavor.

Xavier Flouret uQamata '07
Produced by Amani Vineyards in Stellenbosch South Africa, this Cab Franc-driven Bordeaux blend is the brilliant work of a seasoned female winemaker. It's worth coming just to taste this wine alone.
